We have red Wasps all around our house. They nest under the siding on the house, inside outdoor light fixtures, wherever they can squeeze in. They are aggressive as all get out. If you walk past one sitting on the side of the house it'll come after you. I get tired of them buzzing me while I'm trying to sit on the porch or when I go through the door outside. Because of where they nest I can't spray the nests themselves without tearing siding off the house or tearing gutters down, ect. In addition there seems to be several places they are nesting. Any options for getting rid of or reducing the numbers of these little demons?

Have you tried any of the wasp/hornet traps from YouTube? I think I remember seeing some awhile back using chicken as bait, and the wasps would somehow fall into water that had dishsoap or something in it.

We have wasp traps around our house in Fairbanks. They work.

Powdered Sevin Dust drops wasps like bullets. Just flick the bottle up towards the underside of the nest, after dark, if they won't let you approach during the day.

Permethrin. Even though you can't spray the nests themselves, spray around where you see them going in. The next day they'll be gone.

This! order 36.6% permethrin, mix it 1.5 oz to the gallon, spray the exterior of the house, spray around the foundation, kills anything with 6 or 8 legs.

This time of year what you are seeing is reproductives emerging from their winter slumber. These will be foundresses or mated females that will be starting the cycle this year.
Evidentily your house is full of suitable cracks and crevices to allow them to safely overwinter.

You need a crack and crevice treatment with a good insecticidal dust like delta or drione. Then a good caulk and seal to stop it longterm.

When I was in the army we were down on one of those rivers in Clarksville, don't remember which one. We were on a backwater and I grabbed a branch to prevent us from hitting the bank. There must have been a nest on that branch because one nailed me on the back of the hand. My friend Dave just about creamed his jeans because he thought I got nailed by a moccasin. I used cuss words. Including the big one. Repeatedly.

If memory serves; Jed and Jethro would pick them off with a muzzle loader while sitting on the front porch.

Yellow J's: I dump a few ounces of gasoline down the hole at night when they're all inside, then cover the hole so they can't get out. The fumes will wipe out the nest by morning.
Wasp's: Get a can of long range foaming wasp killer, and spray the entry's at night. Likely have to repeat.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'll get some permetherin and a sprayer and try that. There's far too many crevices and cracks in my house siding for the crack and crevice treatment to be feasible. Although a total elimination would be nice, I'll settle for just a reduction in red wasp activity.

Thoro seal concrete blocks, great stuff at the sill plate. Is the siding wooden clap board? The plastic and aluminum siding should not allow entry. what else is there????

For wasp nests I use a spray can of Gun Scrubber with the little plastic tube on the button. It will spray a stream 8'-10'+. Every wasp on the nest that gets sprayed drops instantly.

For yellow jacket nests in the ground, I use a pump sprayer with Termidor/Fipronil and spray/soak the entrance from a distance. The entire nest dies within hours.
