Any idea on the going rate for a 20x20 ft concrete pad with brushed finished? 4 in. monolithic, 4000 psi concrete. Easy access, area if fairly flat, will need minimal site prep. No trees or other obstacles. Concrete truck can pull right up to the site for the pour. Going to be used for a shop. No vehicles. Appreciate any thoughts.

Don't know about cost but better pour it 5 " then later if you want to put vehicles on it you can. No one knows what the future brings

I'd spend the money and put reinforcing wire or bar in it.

Are you doing site work/forming? Or do you want a full price for forming, pouring, and finishing?

5 yards of concrete @155 yard plus labor. Do it yourself should be around 1,200 ish with 2x6 for forms. Hiring it out, not sure.

Use a vapor barrier, wire mesh, fiber, cut in expansion joints, and seal it. Pour it as suggested at 5-1/2” using 2x6 framing.. None of these things can be done later, so do it right in the beginning. You will appreciate it later.

It doesn't seem like all that long ago we were pouring concrete for $100 a yard, excluding mesh/rebar and forming. Too old to get back in that game.

I haven't poured a pad in over 15 years, but at today's prices, I'm willing to give it another go!
My brothers been waiting almost a year to to get a 40x40 done.

That seems reasonable, probably 50/50 labor to materials or so.

Was under the impression that monolithic pads didn't require footings as the edges are thicker to support load bearing walls? Is that not correct?

Monolithic just means all poured at once. Anytime that term is used around here footings are usually involved. But I see what your saying. So how deep are your edges going to be an how wide at that depth?

I got a 30 +40 building / sheshed It's 6 in thick park my boat or truck in it . One side is finished that was added last year(12+30) no footers. Across the back the grade was higher so they framed up an 8 in "curb" for the back walls. but the rest is just anchor bolts inserted during finishing job and walls went up. It has a 10 foot ceiling and trusses.. That pad cost me 3900 for everything. rebar and steel wire , dense grade, bobcat work, sealed , cut , But that priced also included the drive extention in front of the side shed.
