Savage 110 has had a reputation for accuracy for as long as I have known about them. I bought one new at a hardware store in Salida CO about 77 or 8 in 30-06. Shot pretty good. I sold it to my cousin a few years later. He still has it and hunts with it. I don't know anything about the Rambo make up they are putting on them now but they always have been a good rifle.

Still up for debate how this is going to come down, but is looking like Ukraine is going to weather this storm. What remains to be seen is where the cut line ends up being. Back where it was.....or where it is now. I'm hoping they push them all the way out, and take back the Crimea too. The stunt they pulled over there deserves to end in utter, dismal failure.
But going forward, looks like Ukraine is going to be the tip of the spear so to speak. Don't know where they stood going in, but when dust settles, they are going to need to make some societal changes. Basically, adopt the Israeli model........every kid.....boy and girl......coming up will need to be given weapons training.......a nationwide civilian defense force. Those that excel, given a stint in the military, with specialized, formal weapons training. Even if they don't leave weapons in hands of civilians.......have stockpiles of enough small arms and ammo......and assorted other weapons to make another invasion a near certain failure. A nest of killer hornets you really don't want to mess with.

So, do we get the Ukie government to openly renounce their hero's Stepan Bandera's idea that the country should have "ethnic purity"-- pretty important if you going to have territory that is multi-ethnic, or just arm to the teeth anyway...?

O no. Savage 110 is now a weapon of war and has no place on our streets.
I'm always amazed by the stupidly if people that make a statement like that. Every action type was once used in war along with muskets, bows, swords, knifes spears, clubs, and rocks.
I'm glad to see savage will be picking up market shares. The knes I have shot will get the job done.
Boco- Do you only have black bears around your area or are there grizzlies there too? I would think grizzlies are further west of you.
No grizzers here,PC.But polluted with Black Bears. The odd Polar Bear is killed around Moose Factory usually in spring when people are out goose hunting on the Bay. My Northern line is just over 100 miles inland so dont have to worry about those either.

I have several savage rifles including one of the first 110 tactical rifles made before their acutrigger As well as a newer one both will shoot sub MOA out to any practical range you wish to shoot at, yesterday I got to try one of the tricked out models in 223 and no surprise it was even better if that’s possible also heavy as heck, but man was that action smooth and no kick, not surprising due to the weight but not something I would want to have to use offhand but off a bipod I bet you could shoot flys out of the air

Strange coincidence...I just watched an old documentary about WW2 and it featured how the Ukies welcomed the Germans liberating them from the Russians.
Seems like the two should accept they don't /won't be one country?
Sorry off topic Wolfy, just an odd coincidence.

A lot of the "grunt" guards at the Nazi extermination camps during WWII were Ukrainian. Probably the most infamous in the West, at least known about in the U.S., was John Demjanjuk who ended up here, retired as an auto worker, and then late in life was deported for his crimes during WWII. This doesn't mean most Ukrainian people approved of the Nazis, only that there is a history there.

Stalin had starved millions of Ukranians to death during the Holodomor of 1932 to 1933. These current Ukies are the children and grandchindren of those Holodomor survivors. Lots of hard feelings against the Russians. I guess they figured any change is good when they welcomed the Germans. Some even joined the German Army.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine seems like a replay of their invasion of Finland in 1939 (the Winter War). Finnish snipers were devastatingly effective against the Soviets (search Simo Hayha sniper). Russia seems to have forgotten some lessons written in their forefathers' blood. I seem to recall reading an article about a private group of American citizens buying and shipping gear such that as Scopes, binocs, rangefinders, sleeping bags, etc. to Ukraine via Poland. Perhaps they included Savage sniper-quality rifles. We can buy some pretty awesome stuff right off the shelf.

Seems like i remember a story about the Finns cutting holes in the ice of a big lake and putting trees in them. Luring the soviets out onto the ice they thought was still dry land then setting off explosives to sink them.

No, this isn't a repeat of the Winter War and no, in the end, the Savage rifles aren't going to win it for the Ukies. Savage rifles don't do much for range against 152mm and 203mm cannon and 240mm mortars. The meat grinder is happening right now in the Donbas and you can go find plenty of graphic photos and vids of dead Ukrainians and captured weapons, including more and more mighty javelins, on various Telegraph channels and other places on the internet that the MSM, and thus most Americans, will never go. At least these guys lived through it, although this video is 2-3 weeks old and from Mariupol. You can tell it in the eyes that these guys are beat. If there were stud snipers there, they are either dead or left their rifles behind.
