Question for y'all. Just a personal choice thing no real right now wrong. When your liking for advice personally, do you see yourself generally going with the majority or the minority? Ok for instance say your ask about rebuilding a old truck or fixing some traps . 80% of the people give about the same answer along the lines of " no too much work " " nah don't do that you might break something" " it would be so much cheaper to just buy " so on and so on. Say it's the safer or popular option. Then you have the 20% who are kinda the mad scientist nut job type who are like " well heck yeah you can to it ! It'll be a pain in the butt but boy it can be fun too ! Or " you could just go get a new truck but if you rebuild it yo can do ABCD XYZ". More of there risky option. Personally just looking at yourselves who do y'all tend to gravitate towards ( at least on stuff that's not actually work or job related I guess. Like if you screw up you won't lose your house our something lol). Personally I seem to be more along the 20% deal just because doing stuff the harder way is just kinda what I enjoy alot of times but hay like I said no real right or wrong to this just curious about eveyones personal preference

Some situations are like this, I need a soda from the frig. I can walk over and get it or go to the hardware store get some castors, put them on the foot stool and then ride it over to the frig. I still get the soda but ......

The 20% are the thinkers, problem solvers.

Learn from others but don't let them decide what's right for you. Seems like you can't control your inventiveness - that's good and it's rare.
If you think it's a good idea - go for it. you'll probably fail. That's not bad. I've learned a lot more from my failures than from my successes. It takes a pile of failures before you get it right. Most never accomplish much because they never start. So, get started. Time to get some failures out of the way and done with. No shame in that.

Stop looking for advice. That's my advice , from the minority.

Find one or more subject matter experts listen to them. The masses are dangerously uninformed.
Think beyond right or left don't be guilty of group think.

I don't mind listening to any voice, but I only follow One. It's a more peaceful journey this way.

I seldom ask for help, unless it is something I have absolutely no experience in the thing I am trying to accomplish. I mostly rely on my own life experience and creativity. I am. after all, " The make it happen guy". I see a lot of myself in you, Donovan. You have ambition, and are extremely creative, along with a great work ethic. You have also proven that you have wisdom, that is seldom seen in someone your age. My advice is to 'go with what you know', and venture into what you don't know with what you do know, and see what happens. Asking for advise can be a very good thing on occasion, as long as you ask the right questions, of the right people. Life experience will help a lot in sorting those people out. Sometimes, when you're in a pinch, and nobody is around to help, you just dive in and 'make it happen'. You Da Man, Lil' Bro. "Get-er-Done" Charlie
