I have a 3 x 9 Bushnell Sportsman 40mm with adjustable objective sitting on my Savage. Bought it and the gun about 10 years ago. Scope was less than $100. I think it had a model number but that is hidden under one of the rings and I do not have the box. Mounted it, sighted it in and have not touched it since. The most accurate gun/scope combo I have ever owned.

For a. 17HM,R, just get a low powered scope. They are a 150 gun max. No need to go over 6x. Look at Vortex, bushnell,Redfield. And for God's sake, don't get one with all the clutter!
swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

I read QBD's answer above and my experience is the same with a savage .17, it's super accurate. However I went and looked and it has a Simmons 3x9x40 8 point scope on it.

Looking for a good scope for my .17 Hmr. Any owners have a recommendation for a good scope for a 17 Hmr? 2-7x32 vortex cause 17hmr just doesn't shoot that far to need more magnification sight in leave it on 2x 95% of the time edit :just read your post above mine , Leopold is good. I have gone to less magnification unless I plan to be shooting past 300 yards

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
