Anyone else itching to put up some beaver, season can’t come quick enough for me.

I HATE beaver! But I'm kinda ready to get started, lol!

I haven't beaver trapped in recent years but planned to do some on a small scale again this year.
I've been surprised to find that a lot of beaver spots close to home that I "knew" about when I've looked at them over the last few weeks, the beaver are now gone.

They are here in full force! I hope I can get decent, would open ALOT of opportunities!

Well Gerry caught a nice one today, about 40lbs., shops cleaned up, light bulbs changed, need a little more firewood but we’ll have it done soon, sharpen My knifes and get started tomorrow.

Finished up a small beaver job today with empty traps so pulled. Got a call today about another spot I hope to check out next week.

My neighbor and a fellow beaver trapper gave me his beaver knife when he was getting close to the end. So every year in his memory, and the memory of all the other beaver trappers that are in the promised land, I skin my first beaver with his knife, RIP brothers.

Looks like that knife could be the twin to mine!

Pretty sure it is a Russel Dexter knife used by many old time beaver trappers, if not most.

Yup, that would be the same as mine. Bought mine mail order in the late 70's. Still gets lots of use.

John, I can’t say I like it better than a trough because I’ve never used one but I like my table, baught it as a portable work table, no top on it , a long time ago, and it has evolved into my beaver table, if you know an electrician with a conduit bender it would be easy to make .

I only had 6 in the freezer when the fur buyer told me he was stopping by last Tuesday, so I quickly set 12 traps to help fill the freezer and had 9 the next morning. I added a few after that and had a good collection for him when he came. The big one 4th from the left weighed 69 pounds.
