Our trapperman friend from Iowa. Paul B just sent me a message that he is/was on a Rhine River cruise and tested positive for Covid and has been placed in quarantine in Amsterdam for 10 days. I do not think he is just pulling my leg. Paul is noted for being just a tiny bit ornery so I assume that he is a real joy to be around. Lets wish him a full and speedy recovery if he has the bug.

To me it is a bad time to travel any where they force you to test or show a vaccine pass port. I will pass on that. I don't need them to tell me if I am too sick to travel. I wish him the best.

I hope it's not one of those fake messages trying to get you to send money. I've had two such messages from friends over the years. Both times they were in a bad situation and needed me to send them some money. Fortunately I had both of their phone numbers and called to verify. Both times they were at home and not in any trouble. Both times the email addresses were the very same that my friends had.

If it's true, then I hope a quick recovery for Paul.

A guy I know's wife was in the Dominican republic, got tested positive and was supposed to be quarantined for 10 days, the hotel she was in wouldn't let her stay cause they were booked. Guy goes no way, calls a friend, of a friend who knows doctors in the DR.

Hundred bucks later, test was negative, on the plane she goes.

Just got new PM from Paul B. He and his spouse are back in Iowa after full 10 day quarantine with bad cold symptoms. I am delighted he is home and am happy that I am not the person who had to share his misery as I suspect he got a bit grumpy.

I am currently in the Philippines via Soul Korea.
Had to get tested and a covid passport to enter the country.
I will need a negative test 24 hrs before I get on the plane going back to the US.
Everyone is still wearing mask here even outdoors.
Hope I don’t get stuck but I can think of worse places to be.

I have some guys I work with that said those pretty girls were also very friendly. Edit but you may want more than just a covid test.

Perhaps that’s the case in the red light district in Manila but around here all I ever met were good girls,many have never even had a boyfriend.
I have never had a problem.
