Everyone on here and media said oil prices were going to jump with the new administration. Buying oil stocks or futures was a no brainer. right after the election I bought Chevron at $84.20 a share as of Friday it closed over $170 a share. Joe is trying to play catch up now but as long as Russian oil is off the table oil is going to get more expensive. Energy stocks are a good hedge when fuel prices are climbing. They also pay good dividends to boot. Im looking at buying Costco stock its getting close to a buy good company and anyone who, lives close to one is filling there fuel tanks, membership is rising with the cost of food and gas going up. Plus they have a lot of cash instead of debt.

No. It's corporate and personal greed driving the price. Diesel is well over a $1 more than gas here. It went up about $1.50 in the last 10 days--2 weeks here.

Well good for you,

Glad your making money while the country as a whole goes into recession at best. Seems like its best to be rich and stupid?

Taxes are higher on diesel also the sulfur has to be removed and only some oil can be used to refine into diesel.

To be honest, I thought the libs would be smart enough to blame this on something half plausible like the pandemic. Looks like I gave them too much credit.

What used to move for $10/ton is now moving for $13.90/ton. Is that only affecting oil prices?

Ranchers and farmers out west HERE do get funds that are stowed away from local and fed government when they need it, for drought, etc.

Your excuses danvee...

Taxes, removing sulfur and only certain oil can be used to make diesel.

So, is this all new to us that the price doubled in the last year or just drivel?

Just stated after the election if was obvious prices were going up and a good way to offset that is buying oil stocks. Wait till oil hits $150 a barrel your whining harder wont help your situation. Semi retired at 55 must be a gubberment man.

Can you imagine some over the road trucks spending $1000-1200 dollars on filling a diesel fuel tank?

In 1931, Crude Oil was $0.65 a Barrel. Let's bring the price down to that ACTUAL price! None of that Adjusted for Inflation nonsense.

And start making REAL CARS!!!

Like this 1931 Cadillac with a V-16 Engine !!!

Buying stock in oil is a great plan, sounds like it's working for you. But my long term investments, don't help with short term fuel costs. Especially when 30% of customers lock in a product delivered price months ahead of time. The remaining customers see increased cost being passed along. This is due to every thing and every decision made by this administration a total failure.
I don't trade or buy short term, yeah my problem, but in many many years has been pretty good. Just what is Joe trying to catch up to? Managing a brick and mortar business by political wind direction really sucks. But were learning. About the time we get good at this, politics will blow a different direction.
