All you can afford here is the hoiv3es..and that's a maybe.

If it wasn't for Jerry hunting we'd be vegetarians cause we sure couldn't afford meat from the store

Favorite cheap cut is cube steak fix with some mashed taters and gravy!

We buy our beef a half at a time though so it all cost the same per pound, so in that case o prefer eating a medium rare ribeye

Chuck eye, flat iron and just get a roast if you can get one for around $3 or $4 a #. I usually check out the store to see what's been marked down to sell quick.

I also eat a lot more pork. It's far more reasonable price wise. If you're in Wal Mart check out the pre packaged pork loins the sell. The honey siriacha is pretty good, I haven't had the jalapeno flavor yet but got a few in the freezer that were reduced down.

We were at the local butcher shop today. I saw where I could buy a hind quarter for $3.29 and that was cut, wrapped and frozen.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Don' t have the figures right now. I'll post later but 1/2 beef bought from the farmer and butchering cost us less per pound than the cost of hamburger bought at grocery store.
just

$2.93#
hamburger is $5.77# at HY VEE

I would bet that is $2.93 x hanging weight.

Cut and wrapped should be about 55-60% of hanging weight, depending on the type of beef and the shape it is in.

I catch ribeyes on sale at Harris teeter for 8.99-9.99 per lb. I picked up two packs of filet mignon for 10.99 per pound last Friday. I’ll also grab just about anything with a good markdown. It’s hard for me to pass up cheap meat. Grabbed 3 flat iron steaks last week for less than $5.00 for all of them.

Hars to beat a cheap cube steak battered and fried with white gravy and mashed potatoes. I could eat one 3 or 4 times a week
