I don’t like single shots…I like double shots with the hot blonde across the bar.

I’ve got an old Remington single shot rifle that my grandpa gave to my dad when he was a boy, and when grandpa died dad gave it to me. It killed hundreds of rabbits in my dads hands, thousands of ground squirrels in my hands, and someday it will belong to my oldest son. That thing just does not miss. I shot 206 ground squirrels with it one day.
That’s about the only single shot I like. Could be just the sentimental value of it but when I go shooting small game I almost always reach for that one.

Contender here along with several other single shots. They get the job done.

I do like single shots. I like uncomplicated reliable firearms. That said my recent addition that has been loads of fun is a Heritage Rancher carbine .22 I always end up handling other rifles while waiting a few minutes for background check. This time I fondled a Henry 45/70 single shot rifle.....Lets say I'm smitten! Before this I was torn between the Henry H001 .22 lever gun and Rough Rider Rancher. The lever action .22 is still on the list. But the Henry 45/70 single shot winked at me.....I'm in love!!
you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!

H and r pardner shotgun along with their handi rifle are icons. Simple and reliable. Inexpensive. Now that production has ended they keep increasing in value. I keep hoping somebody will start making them again. There are companies manufacturing break open single shot firearms but none of them are close to the quality and affordability of those old H and R's

Have a Trapdoor and several single shotguns. An old XP-100, too.
I went from decades of 10 gauge and 12 gauge pumps and semi's as my primary turkey gun to a 20 gauge single several years back. Don't see me switching to anything else, ever.
