I don't think Biden cancelled more leases. They did cancel the auction to sell more leases due to lack of interest on the part of the oil companies.

My suspicion is that the leases that were going to be offered were worthless, were known by the feds to be worthless, and offering them was to make it look like the Biden administration was doing something to solve the oil supply issue that is driving up fuel prices.

My guess is the market is going to drop more especially when Apple is dropping as far as oil leases a lot of companies are not wanting to invest more at this point in drilling and are happy with oil over $100 a barrel. Why invest more when they are making more money than they have made in the last couple years.

Exactly. And no business can trust that the lease they purchase today won't be invalidated tomorrow.

Oil leases auctions were canceled because there is no oil production close by and oil Companies would have to offer a very very low price to take a chance on those leases. So Biden made up a lie and said no interest from oil companies in the auction. Why not let the oil companies lease it at the going rate and see if they can bring in some good wells. Some times you take a 1 in a 100 shot on a lease and it hits big. Look at what happen off the cost of Guyana. MD
