I have H&R's in 12 ga., 20 ga,, .50 cal muzzleloader, and .223 Rem. The .223 is very accurate and reliable. Trigger is not bad.
The 12 ga. shotgun is PUNISHING! I've never fired anything that kicked so hard. It gives me a headache just thinking about it.

maybe the only thing more punishing than the H&R 12ga is the Rossi 12ga it is a pound or two lighter.
try a 3 inch turkey shell in that you better check your fillings to see if they loosened up when your done. it weighs in at 5 pounds 3 ounces

most of my single shots are front stuffers

I like singles ok , but life is uncertain so a mag full is handy some times.

I grew up bowhunting, so even single shot firearms seem like a decadent luxury.

Started with Ithaca M88 20 guage. Killed a lot of birds with that thing. Still shot it better than any other shotgun I ever picked up. Always want Ruger #1 in 25-06 but probably will never happen.

Only thing about single shots is carrying your ammo.. Just not found a way to carry extras that doesnt result in ammo all over the woods or in a pocket.

Lil badger 22 is my trapline rifle and cva . 44mag is my deer gun. The latter fits nicely in the gun acabbard of my hunting pack after being tagged out or out of shooting time for the day.

I have several single shots---50/90,45/110,45/70,30/40 couple of 22's an old Maynard with two rifle barrels and a shotgun barrel. Use cast bullets and black powder, killed a few deer with the fifty, really impressive, you have to be careful if there is another deer behind your target!

with shot shells shotgun cards are the way to go I haven't tried them in rifle calibers yet I have a coat with a rifle cartridge loops in the chest pocket those work

shotgun cards are velcro with sturdy elastic loops to secure the shells https://esstac.com/7rd-shotgun-card-12gauge/

i have done some stock sleeves also they are OK the quality of the elestic is an issue some loosen up too much

the Hornady cheek bag has been good on my 308 https://www.amazon.com/Hornady-Gun-Cheek-Piece-Tan/dp/B00N6DFST6

lots of cheap ones out there but the elastic is slippery and weakens soon

Both 22 single shot.

Why does the single shot on the upper right appear to have a revolving cylinder? Am I missing something?

the savage 101 was sold as a safety pistol

https://guns.fandom.com/wiki/Savage_Model_101

it is a look alike scaled down colt but the cylinder and barrel hinges out the right side to eject the one round , get reloaded and pushed back in to pull the hammer back and fire that 1 round

Pretty cool GREENCOUNTYPETE, Never knew there was such a gun

sold as a kids gun during the hay day of westerns on TV

my first Handgun was a HY HUNTER Frontier Six Shooter model made by JP Sauer West Germany in the late 50s early 60s

HY HUNTER INC. of Hollywood California was the "manufacuter" aka Importer

it is a Colt new Frontier clone https://www.gunauction.com/buy/13148780

in 1976 SIG Purchased JP Sauer after their 1975 joint venture the SIG P220 becoming SIG Sauer

I carried it on the line for a while load one skip one Load 4 more hammer back hammer forward and holster (placed the hammer on the empty chamber) we couldn't have loaded guns in cars till 2011 in WI so you get good at loading and unloading

it has been replaced by a Wrangler for carry and dispatch it is much lighter
