And yes, now is a chance for my so called friends like Yes Sir, WRR, or Grousewit to add some snide remark about me being shallow and easily side tracked by outstanding examples of the opposite sex and I say bring it. I got broad shoulders

It depends what it looks like under water. The Ebro river in Spain for example is pretty clear in places and one can get away with a good carp rod with tip action and 3 pound braid. In the flooded damed lakes with tree roots etc, you can loose a fish even when using 80 pound line and a heavy boat reel . and anything between those two setups goes. I used 4/0 circle hooks and a 1 .5 pound carp as bait.

Carolina rigs are always a first choice, with or without a float. Soft plastics, cut, and live bait, Carolina rigs simply work.

I build my rods with solid fiberglass blanks and oak handles I turn on my lathe. They are heavy but I never had one snap in half like the light hollow ones do in the worst possible time.

I just want to know why these couldn't have been brought over instead of carp.
