I agree you need the right soil temp to get seeds to germinate and plants to grow and not all are the same. Warm and cool season plants need different temps establish roots, grow and begin to seed. Cool season are peas, lettuce, radish, arugula, spinach, kale, cabbage typically leafy plants. Warm season are tomato's, peppers, beans, okra Squash, melons. Potatoes and onions I put in on Good Friday and they do well.

330, when it’s time for me to put corn seed in the ground soil temp is what I’m concerned about. That being said I spend a lot of time looking at forecast lows and highs in the coming weeks that effect the soil temp.

Frost in my garden is what I worry about. Soil temp I've never even thought of. As long as my plants don't freeze I'm fine. Different conditions every year and always more produce than we need as long as we plant after Decoration Day

Soil temp. When it stays above 55 degrees for 3-4 days it’s time to get it in the ground.

Just do it ! sunlight is the lacking heater this spring. Yes what Sundance said is correct. I plant when the soil is around 55 degrees for plants like tomatoes. Onions and root veggies can be planted when soil is colder than 55 tomatoes the chlorophyll A=B does not switch over with temps below 55f so the sugar is not made and the plants just sit there.
