we were out doing some drills then I worked a shoot where I didn't need my belt so I left it in the front seat of my truck and it was in the sun.
my mistake I didn't even think about it as the temp was very pleasant in the high 70s low 80s compared to the mid 90s earlier in the week

the clips that hold the mag pouches I run a quad pouch , well with mags in them and way it was sitting on my front seat it had a little weight on the clips and the heat relaxed the kydex and opened up the clips that hold it to my belt

I wrapped a damp rag around the mag pouches and used my heat gun to loosen and reform the clips with a pair of gloves on so it is solid on my belt again , just a reminder keep that kydex out of the sun it will start to get soft about the time it is too hot to hold with your hands unfortunately that can happen in the sun in a car/truck

Yup unless you have a shade tree every where you go, the cab of you truck will be a dutch oven for the next 3 or 4 months (read 6 months if you are as far south as 1-10). I keep a trama kid and emergency supplies in the back seat protected by one cooler inside of another. It is the only way anything will last on a summer day.

which is why you bring a spare everything to the match

and why I carry 4-5 mags for stages that should never need more than 2 , if you fumble and drop one there is typically no picking it up

Kydex belt clips that are heat formed will break eventually....mostly on the holster because of the weight of the handgun. You can make the belt loops from strips of thick leather....
