people are still arguing if it was bad policy and just one blunder of miss management after another as it was reported ,to much rain , too little rain , bad season , labor issues , bad farming practices.

that is how it was played out and down played

when you realize that the people starved out had been feeding themselves for centuries without outside help , were on some of the best soil on the continent and start looking at maps and ethic groups most effected . it really becomes quite clear it was a systematic genocide by controlling the food and who could make food and the distribution of food.
in 1932-1933 around 5 million starved to death or died of illness related to malnutrition.

beyond that the division created between city and rural was huge propaganda blamed the rural people for being food hoarders and seed savers not bringing food to the cities but at the same time the rural people who should have been able to farm and grow food and had for centuries were forced to grow crops the could not eat .

the Ukrainian Famine was the most well known starving 3.5 to 5 million people who literally live in Europe's bread basket to death. however starvation effected far more than just Ukrainians.
