I was at the eye doctor yesterday- I'm looking for prescription shooting glasses and possibly doubling as driving glasses. I have RX Sunglasses, so I don't need shaded lenses, they recommended Wiley Saber RX but they look a little hokey. I guess the benefit is you can change out the lenses color but it appears you now have two lenses to keep clean- I have a hard enough time with one pair.

Any recommendations for prescription shooting glasses or experience with Wiley Saber?

What do you need shooting glasses for:
  • Safety?
  • Range requirement?
  • Shading?
  • Target contrast?
I have never used any kind of dedicated shooting glasses. I do have two pairs that i wear all the time. Both are bifocal with polycarbonate lens'. One has a very light brown tint, the other a bit heavier yellow tint.

If shooting clay target games, a lot of us use either an orange or light rose tint, depending on background and time of day.

I see a number of sporting clays shooters in Wiley's. They have that wrap around look and fit that is pretty popular. One word of caution with Rx is sometimes it can be difficult in wrap around design but if your eye doc is ok with it likely not issue. Personally i use Rangers

I buy my prescription glasses online. Prices start at $6.95
Yes , you read that right , six dollars and ninety five cents.

I have an old school type pair of aviator style with Kelochrome type tint (yellow) with wrap over ear side pieces. Cost about $12 to have them made. Prescription lenses. Thousands of frames available.

Been using Wiley X glasses for years in various frame styles but always polarized and polycarbonate lenses. You can’t go wrong with them . :-)
