Very good, Michael.

Yes those are friends .

In Florida, I have relocated them a distance away from my chooks, and individuals I would recognize, I haven't seen them back. I think they just wander along .

The Blue Indigos I had down south were absolutely gorgeous.

I had to stop 3 times today to pick a turtle up off the road and carry it to the side. That was on my trash run that is only a couple of miles. With the temps up the reptiles are starting to get around.

More than most folks think. From sea snakes to morays and the common eel. But you only get to see them as a diver. For the normal boat folks the sea is pretty devoid of life unless they hook something or it jumps on the boat

We relocate them.permanently especially if they enter the hen house.

Cant get myself to do that cathrin. The non venomous snakes I take to the far side of the property and the others I take to the Chuck Swan national forest and let them go there. Thats about 5 miles away. Some folks would burn down their house if the found a big spider in it I guess. Now yellow jackets. Thats a different story. They just have to die lol

Spidets don't bother me.

Jerry evicted 8 watersnakes yesterday within a 20 ft area along the crickbank by the dog run.

Only snakes I “evict” are venomous snakes and that’s just on the plantations or my yard. Everywhere else they get a pass. I’m especially fond of cottonmouths. They’re just so laid back and docile I hate even “evicting” them on the plantations.

Water snakes, considering that they have no venom, can have quite an attitude. They are a bit like the little Shitzu that thinks he is a doberman.

Yeah. They put up quite a show and they'll bite ya too.
The neighbor boy found out the hardway when his granddad told him to go catch the snake they had in the pond..with his hands. He managed it somehow and was swiftly rewarded for his dumbassedness by having to take a course of antibiotics.

He was 16.

His granddad also told him baby skunks didn't spray.

We went out riding one evenin and he saw a little cute skunk. I told him to let it be..he said oh it won't spray.

He threw his shirt over it and it let loose.

It might not had as much stink in him but he had plenty.
He stunk my whole truck up.lol

I went by his house about an hour after and his grandma had him standing in the front yard as she poured canned tomatoes over his head.it was one of the funniest things I've ever Seen lol

..I honked the horn and waved.

He flipped me off. grin

Till this day I still razz him about it.

Number 10 yesterday. We were tarping a load of hay and I walked over to the crick bank and there laid another big sucker.

Jerry and his 12 Guage relocated him quick.

I was lookin around the bank and found a he as big as a widemouth quart jar.that was quote slick where they'd been crawling in and out.

We gave them a surprise. Hopefully the whole wad of ems dead by now.

I'm not scared of them. I just don't like big splats of crap on my stuff.

Those green blocks of Tomcat poison kill WAY more rats and mice than a pickup load of blacksnakes ever would. And the green blocks don't crap from the rafters.
grin

We have some friendly big black snakes here. I found the shed skin of one when deer hunting. Three pieces measured just under 8 feet. We have Milk and Fox snakes that can be beautiful. These varieties get a friendly relocation. We had a baby Milk snake living outside the back/kitchen door that I wanted to move away from the house. Wifey said he’s cute so leave him be. One evening I heard from the kitchen a loud scream, then riotous laughter. Wifey was getting something from the drawer under the oven and the baby milk snake peeked out from under the stove. It got a friendly relocation away from the house.

On the other hand, we have Northern Brown Water snakes that can be extremely aggressive. No venom but they have regularly bothered our labs who swim everyday in the lake in the summer. The Herpetology book says their bite and saliva can cause a nasty infection. Those nasty things get a forceful and permanent relocation. One sunny day in May I relocated 8 of them.

I have seen Copperhead snakes about an hour south of here. Hopefully they stay there. I pity you folks who have large and/or venomous snakes. How do you have enough ammunition?

Its scary but we think exactly alike.least when it comes to snakes.lol

Will. We always have enough ammo on hand.lol

I've killed several copperheads..usually 3 or 4 a year. I usually in July or August when it's very hot.

Folks fear of snakes…….I think must go back to the fear put into someone as a child, whether by the parents or biblically, or probably both.
