Hay so I gotta question for you guess that work for DOT local county government ect. I see alot of government utility trucks with welders cranes ect on them. I sure they have to be replaced Every so often so I'm curious do they ever get sold at an auction or something? Or is there like a process you can go though to purchase an old one ? Just talked to the guys a the welding shop and the Miller bobcat I wanna try and get is supposed to jump up to $6500 next month so I'm just looking into other options past that or Facebook marketplace lol

GSA auction vehicles are required to have frequent oil changes in their previous lives. Some are treated better than others. I probably had seven or so in my career and I’d like to have had all the ones I turned in.

The state of kansas as a surplus sale not sure if it's a auction
or more of a store you can buy office supplies like computer's,
desk I would think other things also.
In the past they have sold vehicles also, I've never been there myself
but I know people that have.

From what I understand is that every state does it differently, some auctins and others public sales. Maybe call your state DOT and ask.

Federal wholesale here sells to nonprofits like schools, counties, first responders and state governments the items going to these places cannot be bought and sold within the first year is what I’ve been told. I believe they do public auction just not very often.

Ours go to gov deals. You can get them for a steal and they have been meticulously maintained. Our fleet department receives some sort of national award every year. I keep my eye out for the cummins service body trucks

Gotta live up to the nickname...

Not here. I work for NDOT, and we use our equipment until it just can’t be fixed anymore, then it gets scrapped. Our paint striping truck is so old that our mechanics have to fabricate parts for it when it breaks down lol. My crews lift gate F-350 has 260,000 miles on it’s second motor. We don’t have a huge equipment budget, so we have to make what we do get last

NC has a state surplus auction website. Item stay for three weeks. Lots of state owned vehicles listed. Can be examined at surplus site but not driven.

I bet Miss. has a similar system. Google should find it for you.

Here in Pa, we send equipment to action some of it has low miles on it. Anyone can view and bid on them.
