35? That's a ridiculous amount

In bad times, hoarding peanut butter actually makes very good sense. It is very nutritious. With the addition of some common weeds, you could live on peanut butter for a very long time.

If you saw the way we go through peanut butter you'd change that statement. Our nearest Sam's club is about 2.5 hours away. So to keep from having to make a lot of trips we buy it in twins packs of 40 oz jars.

We also have friend who owns a bakery and she comes to our house if she needs it for one of her specialty cakes.

Plus that's more jars for nuts and bolts.

You can probably still use the recalled peanut butter for baking without worrying about getting sick.

Heck, I'm gonna eat it.

For using it in the bakery there's no way. It isn't baked for most of the cakes and cupcakes. You know how sue happy people are these days....

Personal baking is what I meant, not commercial.

Just looked at the jar of PB we just finished.....yep it is one of the recalls.

I have 4 48 oz jars and a box of the Jif To Go I’ve been eating that fall within the recalled lots. I haven’t thrown anything away, yet….

So the affected lot codes start at1274425 and end at 2140425. Exactly how many jars is that? Don’t they usually publish those numbers? Exactly how much Smithfield Bacon Toppings” were affected (185000 lbs) in their recall was publicized from the beginning. I haven’t seen any numbers except that 14 people across 12 states have gotten ill with 2 requiring hospitalization.

Hmmmm…. Isn’t the head of the FDA a recent Biden appointee?

Just went on JM Smuckers website and contact form to ask what the approximate quantity of peanut butter is affected by this recall. I’m addition to your email address and name they want your home address phone number and D.O.B.

we had 2 in the house one was 3/4 gone so I guess that one was OK one unopened

if you want any sort of reimbursement for your jars you have to submit something online on the Jiff website , I don't know details wife said read me these numbers and she entered them and we had the receipt yet. for the one jar.

we buy the big jars so it is almost 6 dollars so she wanted a coupon for a new one.

also no judgment on 35 jars of PB so long as that it what you used before it goes rancid , store what you eat eat what you store.

We have 25 jars or so. None in the recall.
