I am likely not the first to come up with this , I like it as it is simple and quiet
this sling will probably get replaced by one without plastic buckles but it is working for now
this is an 870 express we picked up used good shape it was showing some finished wear but functionally good just needed a good clean up 21 inch barrel , yup I like those shorter barrels anyway I think my son has claimed this one as his turkey gun.
he actually bought it I had seen it 2 weeks earlier in the used rack at a local shop he was headed there with a friend I said see if it is still there and call me if it is. he called me I said see what you can get him down too on it and I will go half with you if you can get it under 3 he got it down to 275 he owed me some money any way so we are even now.
I am a sucker I guess for solid utilitarian shotguns this is pre-plastic trigger housing express
back to the sling attachment
simple , quiet and effective paracord
so many sling attachment points are either weak , loud or overly expensive and still may be loud
I know the standard is the uncle mikes type and they are ok , there are ways to make them better I have epoxied the studs in to keep them from rotating and taped the metal to keep it quiet
always good to take ideas from people who invented their own way of doing that fit with their activity the Finish had some improved sling attachments with their use of the Mosin Ski patrol used the side mount rear sling , I like the side mount rear sling point as the gun lays flat against your back better when your just hiking in our out before or after shooting hours
in AR and tactical type stocks side mount on the ejection port side is quite common now this does that but very lo budget and quiet.
the slings we are using now the most are a 2 point with a quick adjust to make them loose or tight and the old 1 1/4 GI web sling the GI web sling is great if your going to use it as a shooting platform, the quick adjust Vikers style 2 point is great for hands free carry
my next one is probably just going to be a Vickers and not the knock off condor
