It's a pike pole. Used by loggers and fire fighters.

A fair number of people collect the old wooden pike poles, like that, to hang on walls with other antiques. The newer ones, especially for fire fighting are mostly fiber glass and often collapsible and telescoping. I've seen people wrongly sell the old pike poles as harpoons more than a few times.

Had a guy try to sell me an old window opener/closer as an antique pike pole one time.

Pike pole-Good to unplug smaller culverts that you cannot get inside that have been blocked by beavers. The ones we use come in various lengths, and are aluminum-very light weight.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

A must in any jet boat here in the interior running skinny water, Pike Pole.

I wouldn’t go anywhere on a river without one. If you lost an engine or sucked up gravel in your jet and lost steering it would keep you out of the log jambs, sweepers and preachers, and it has!

I love the smell of burning spruce---I love the sound of a spring time goose---I love the feel of 40 below---from my trapline I will never go!
