On my trail camera that is. I found the log it was drumming on and setup a trail camera and got this neat video.

That’s so awesome!! I tried my best to stalk up on one in Washington to get a video. Those jokers start early in the morning too! Way before the gobblers start gobbling.

Awesome!!

I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!

Good shot!

I've been trying to get a pic or video of a drumming grouse for years. So for I've not been successful. I hear dozens while turkey hunting but getting close enough for a pic is difficult.

Eh...wot?

Central MN, a bit north of St.Cloud. I was walking thru the woods and got lucky and saw him standing on the log. I went over to investigate and saw a lot of droppings, bingo. I searched last year for a drumming log without success to try and catch one for a trail camera contest I was entered in. I have a few other vids of him that morning.

Ultra cool.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

I have seen that a couple of times while spring turkey hunting in W VA . It is just another really neat ways that mother nature entertains us if we just get out and than observe the days events

Love that vid. Thanks for sharing. Here in Iowa, there were times in the distant past where I was spring turkey hunting where there were some grouse present and occasionally I would hear them drum like this, but was never close enough to see it. I did not know that they would return to the same location to drum like that, cool stuff.

So are you saying they have a particular place they like to drum from? I’ll take a camera next year and hunt for one. Mine seem to be drumming from cedars and cover for the most part.
