Started the day working this Bird hard after he came about 500 yards it took almost an hour to get him the last 60 yards and my boy made a great shot on this giant. 10 1/2" beard, 1 1/4" spurs and 21.4 lbs. It was great since we don't get to hunt as much together anymore with his work schedule and we got to finish the day with his daughters 4th birthday party. Hard to believe she's 4 already. So it was an awesome day with the family with great memories made again.

Congratulations.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

That’s what it’s all about….even if yah didn’t get a bird.

Amen to that. I'll take every minute I can get with my boy in the woods. I don't even carry a gun when we go together most times unless he tells me to. grin. Saturday was one of those days he said take it but I set him up out front of me in the shooters position because my main goal was to get him a bird.my gun layed on the ground beside me the entire time and I never touched it.i was just loving watching him as I was working the bird to him and with him making the shot I told him as I was hugging him afterwards " Bud, you just made my entire season". He missed a bird the first day I called in and after that happened I told myself that I was going to hunt my butt off with him the rest of the season hoping to get another opportunity for him. I've harvested so many I didn't care if I got one or not. It was all about him. Now I'm anxious to get his daughter out in a few years. She loves the Turkey's too.
