People need to get out and enjoy the outdoors-dont need the grid when your off grid. If they shut off power all summer it would be a good excuse to board up the town house and live at the cabins for the summer.

I'm not in Michigan. But I'm on the grid..................til the grid goes down. Then I handle it myself from there.

Mike And lives in the north not having to deal with the heat and humidity of other places. Also missed the push for electric cars when the grid can't Handel the current usage.

in his defense.............you can be ON the grid for convenience and still be quite self-sufficient if the grid goes down.

You dont have to be on the grid to be on the net. It gets hot here in the summer, lots of wusses stay indoors and artificially cool themselves.i suppose it is a necessesity if you live in the concrete jungle.i dont like the heat, but I dont need anything artificial to cool off around here. I just go down to the river falls in town and wet a line or to the bush cabin where its cool in the shade even on the hottest days. The worst part of the hot summer days in the bush is the bulldogs in the day and the mosquitos at night. But no worries,I got bug nets set up on the bunks. Like somebody said its all about convenience.people are fairly soft nowadays. But they will pay for that one way or another.

I do use a generator at camp.Wife likes to use the phone at the one cabin where there is cell service. I also use propane. Not sure you could consider propane or gas generator or solar as being on the grid.I dont consider that being on the grid.

Somehow people think covering our nations best farm ground in solar panels is a good idea. Nuclear is the solution.

I agree. Here in ONT we get 60% of our electricity from 9 nuclear plants for more than 50 years. I believe the other 40% is hydro.

Yea,nickname for horseflys. They take a chunk out of you when you come out of the water before you dry off.Or if you are working hard and are wet from sweat. Thats the only time they are a problem really.
