I have not seen 243 deer rounds on the shelf but once in over a year. I passed because of the price, but hav yer to load any. I see them daily for around $24.99/Box on up. Seems a bit nuts. I can still load them for about $0.35/shell with my ancient stock of bullets/primers/powder. I can still remember folks on here back in 2008 that said reloading would never pay. LOL

Local online auction saw .410 shells selling 35 to 50 dollars a box plus 10% buyer's fee and sales tax. People have too much money

LOL I have been lazy and not set up my 2nd dillion 550 at my farm and all my loading/well most of it is at my other house 110 miles away. I did load some 357 round for my boys to hunt with but that's been it in a few years. I have around 60 lb of powder lots of primers and bullets to get loaded. Maybe some day I will take the time to put some together. But if I see Hornady north American whitetail on the shelf at 24 abox instead of the 43 I saw last time I would buy a few hundred to last tell I get organized and start loading again

Went to a local store and found them well stocked on ammo but hardly anything for reloading. After looking at prices I left empty handed. Got my doubts I will return to that store even if prices normalize.

After the horrific school shooting this week price is not going to be an issue, availability is. I could not find 22long rifle for 2 years after Sandy Hook. Yep, that why I buy it cheap and stack it deep normally. But I got a few new calibers to me and didn't lay in the supply like normal. About the same time what I shoot the most was running a little low when th shortages hit. It's OK I have other calibers in stocked up on just not so much on my go to stuff. Given the opportunity and fair price I would buy a few pallets full now. Prices will only climb and it will never go bad. It can protect me, feed, or be used to trade, cheap insurance and good investment really.

I was in Bass Pro two days ago in Olathe KS. I did not price any ammo but a one pound jug of H4350, a very versatile rifle powder, was 45 dollars for a pound. They had a container of Hornady 308 brass and wanted 47 bucks for 50 pieces. I would have bought the brass for my son, but not at almost a buck apiece.

I paid over a buck a piece 8 years ago but that was for Lapa brass. Hate to see what it's up to now.
