My favorite Tman posts from the past were Pskinny makin a big show oit of internet courting Tsarvena. The guy was hilarious and I don't remember ever having to explain a joke to Tee.

There were some interesting ones for sure. You could see the hackles rise and the posts were flying.
We probably missed more than we saw, some just went "poof."

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I learned a lot from those posts.

When I was a kid I read a story in Field and Stream or maybe Outdoor Life that said turkeys need to fly off the side of a hill. They had a difficult time flying from level ground. I quit reading magazines. No FFG no TPC none of them.

I thought I was a pretty good trapper when I came on here. Among the handful of trappers I knew I was. One of the most valuable lessons I learned here was to run what somebody was saying through my experience filter because there were a lot of people out there who know a lot more than me. Made my world a lot bigger I guess is a good way to say it.

A bit off topic. Not really a feud so to speak. But I enjoy Hal Sullivan's posts. They way he would infuse common sense, compassion, empathy, and understanding towards those that opined the unorthodox way of trapping. Some may argue that there was a slight trace of edginess to his demeanor, but that disappeared shortly after his sabbatical to that monastery in Tibet. grin

MtWildman or Montana wildman I suspect has passed. I remember he had a terminal illness but I don't remember what.

and a few of those names are on the filter list, so I'm surprise to see them get through

Lol. Executioner didn't put up with much back then and I could tell pretty quick if a thread was gonna get the axe. I would go ahead and open every page to read later. Lots of times I would refresh the last page and oops, there was a problem. Lol

Oh man, I really enjoyed MtWildman's post. I often have wondered what happened to that ole boy...

I used to lock horns with him over on Wild About Trapping when it existed until he basically gave the bird to the owner and MtWilman went bye bye. Ed was his name but can't remember if I ever knew his last name. He wasn't in good health back then so I suspect he's no longer breathing air on the Earth...

Last time Hupurest was on here he said he had gone green, traded his guns for a good camera. I took him two dozen ears of sweet corn when I went to AK and he gave me some smoked red salmon.
