Filed my state and federal tax return (by mail) February 22 this year. Got the state return over two months ago, however I can’t find anything regarding the status of the federal return - if they’ve received it , it if it’s pending , payment sent.. just nothing.
Followed all of the prompts on the website and called the number from IRS website and both after entering in all of my info say the same thing. “ We cannot tell you anything about your return at this at this time”

Is anyone else experiencing slow wait times on their federal return?

Slow? slow doesnt even come close.
My 2020 return wasn't processed till March 2022

Last year we filed by Mail for some reason and got State in 3 months and Federal in 9 mos.

E-filed this year and got State back in 8 days and Federal by day 12.

Mailed in my return on March 4. I check the Where’s My Refund Status and it doesn’t even say they received it yet. As of now, you will not be able to talk to a live voice. I can’t stand the incompetence of Biden’s government.

Don’t mail if you want it back quick…e-file. Mine goes in a drawer anyways so I really don’t care when it comes back, but it is nice getting it quick!!

I did the free E-file through H&R Block's website. Federal took 2 weeks to deposit and state took about 4.

Filed paper federal Feb. 2 still nothing as far as refund and nothing on their where is my refund site. They are trying to force you to efile. Last year they said they sent a refund in April on their site. Nothing received so I had to file a lost refund form in Sept. and then received refund in Oct. When you pay which I have mostly done before I retired they cashed my check within a week. What's good for thee is not what's good for me. I guess that's their opinion. They treat you like you are a criminal.

They didn't waste any time cashing my check !

I always mail my return and get a return receipt signed when they receive it.

I had mine done on 4/18. They send it electronically sill no defend in the bank.

I noticed there's two different addresses....one if you owe them and the other if they owe you..

In spite of what they would like you to believe, they ain't no bank. They promise to hold your money for you and hand you back whatever they don't need. Nah, I don't play that way. They get what they are owed, and only when it is due.

No waiting around for me.

For 30 years I did mine by paper and mailed it in (always got a refund). They are forcing you to e file, which I started two years ago for the reason you are experiencing.

Efiled for probably 20 years and never a problem.
