For those of you in the know. I haven’t really heard anything unfavorable about either organization.

Both organizations are fighting TOGETHER against anti trapping legislation.

FTA is my preference because they had a convention in Harrisonburg,VA.

I find that both organizations are fighting for our trapping rights along with your local organization. Join them all! The couple dollars each year can make a huge difference!

Both of these associations are top notch and I'm proud to be a member of both of them. I've heard lots of excuses by some for not belonging to one organization or another. As far as I'm concerned that's all it is...an excuse..

Join as many national associations as you can afford and for darn sure your state association too!

Both deserve our support

with they way things are today, one should try to be a member of both. i know things are expensive now more then ever but if someone can afford to eat out or buy coffee everyday they should join both.

Both organizations need and deserve our support, I don't care what Mudrat says.

You need a hobby. Everyday there is some new gloom and doom thread from you. It's depressing.

I am a member of both and as stated they work in unison on many issues and both collaborate well with other organizations that support and work with trappers. There are nitches that each can do that allows for different efforts and opportunities. Both provide opportunities for state associations to host conventions and rondezvous that help state associations financially and in gaining members and activities. The fact that their nationals are a few months apart also lets state associations choose which time and option works best for them. I did not join either until the early 1980s and thus I am not familiar with the older history, good, bad or ugly as to how each operates as they do.
