Was getting out of the truck yesterday and got a leg hung up in the seat belt slack and to the ground I went. I manage to get my foot out of the belt so I cleared the steps and hit the ground rolling. lol

Reminder:

Was anyone watching? I usually have an audience if I pull a stunt like that.

Just the guy coming in the yard. Must have looked a lot worse than it was, he wasn’t laughing, genuinely concerned.

Taking a digger isn't so bad if you can still get back up. I always have to lay there for a minute do systems check. Decide if need to hit the life alert or use that one spare round I carry. LMAO!

I am glad you didnt get hurt. Does not always end up that way.

I think it was a test. lol

I’ve been working on staying calm when things “instigate” a not so pleasant response. First thought was get my knife and cut the seatbelt out but that was only for a couple tenths of a second.

You may not be out of the woods yet. As we age (I am 68) - it may be a few days or longer before the effects are felt.

.....I hope you're fine and remain so !

Remember, gravity is not just a good idea, It's the Law. I often test to see if gravity is still there. Glad to know you are well and unharmed.

As you get older, falls become more and more damaging to your long term health. At some point after age ninety, falls become the leading cause of death. I hope you're okay.

I didn't smile at all when I read this.

Some of the worst ranching accidents I've seen have been with equipment , trucks, tractors, etc.

I am glad you are ok, HT. Be careful...even doing the most mundane things.

Glad your ok . I took a fall last Sunday at work we was replacing some lights in a big spiral freezer and I was on the 2nd floor coming down the ladder to the 1st lost my grip then the next thing I know was I on my back in the freezer floor . When I fell I was around 8 feet , I was lucky walked away from it with a bunch of road rash on my back where I bounced off the cage of the ladder . The next day I wasn’t even sore but Tuesday I was pretty stiff .

Same here Sharon.
I can't remember all the people I've met with as a Chaplain who had falls that decimated their physical health.
Young and old.
Had a young lady of 23 who was a professional dancer, who slipped, more than fell, down wthe rise in one stair step, and fractured her back so bad she had multiple fractures of her spine, top to bottom. I think 6 fractures total. It was a horrendous life altering "slip." Her finance even got cold feet and backed out after her 3rd surgery and stay in the hospital.

Glad you're OK HT.

Blessings,
Mark
