Trying not to high jack the mushroom thread


This deer is by far the biggest I've got on camera so far. Everything else is pretty much just a fork at the brows and main beams. First year to run cameras all year. We are after a special buck but not sure if this is him or not. The nontypical point at the base on the left side suggests it might be but will need to see more to know. That point should be more like a third beam and it's width and distance from point to point doesn’t quite look big enough but it could be the velvet and the fact that they are still growing. No experience watching them grow. I'll post pics as I get more.

Nice looking buck for sure. I had one several years ago that I watched all summer. Was interesting to see how their attitude changes as their racks grown as it gets closer to fall.

Those have a good start, interested to see what they are like come August.

This is the one we are after. This is in February and he had broke of at least half his points off. From every thing we can see he's a relatively young deer. Interestingly they were still fighting hard enough in February for him to break the end of his main beam off. I think fawn does were still coming in heat that late guessing from pics I was seeing.

We need to get some cameras out but they’re all being used for trapping. Still got a month or so before I get thinking about finding one.

Five months at least.

Couple of good candidates, for sure.

Used to run 5 cameras on a little over 113 acres 24/365. Now, I only own one camera. I do need to get it out. But it's funny............. Over the years, the mature bucks never showed up on my property until about a 3 day window in August. After those 3 days........they are there.

Some nice looking deer coming up. I have yet to run any cameras for “my” deer yet. We still are using ours on the trap lines. Probably gonna pull about August or so to take a little break and scout for deer.
