My Uncle had them. Pest company removed everything plastic and brought in giant heaters to heat the house for several hours. When complete, they found a few overlooked pieces of plastic that were melted. More than one treatment may be needed. I wonder what happens to the plastic coating on the house's wiring? Keith

Know anybody with some DDT stashed away in their barn? That gets them first dose.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Know anybody with some DDT stashed away in their barn? That gets them first dose. That stuff worked. That is why we never had a bed bug problem. DDT was a very effective pesticide. It was just misused. They thought more was better. In the right hands , used properly in low doses , it worked great.

Make sure they are bed bugs and not bat bugs they look extremely similar but with different habits.

Make sure they are bed bugs and not bat bugs they look extremely similar but with different habits. This. Bat bugs look exactly like bed bugs. You need an entomologist to confirm. I'd look in the attic to see if you have bats. 1-3 times a year a customer will call, discovered they have bats by the bugs. Not all colonies have them.

Not going to get rid of them with the stuff you find at the hardware store. Heat requires special equipment, its not as simple as turning the furnace on high.
This is what we used when I owned a pest control company.
