Question: If 97% of crimes committed with a firearm are committed with handguns, why does the government want to take the rifles so badly?

Because they "look" like the guns that mow down hundreds of people in seconds, in the movies. It is low-hanging fruit.

Question: If 97% of crimes committed with a firearm are committed with handguns, why does the government want to take the rifles so badly? because they don't like you having an equal to what they carry. they are afraid of you and the second amendment and what it is really intended for. it is one gun with all common interchangeable parts, you can put all the tools needed to assemble and repair them in a tool bag, there are millions of them and they all take the same magazine and many the same ammo. for the same reason most countries will not let citizens own "military" cartridges like 9mm or 5.56 funny isn't that the two they are against right now ?
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

If u are going to defend ur freedoms against a tyrannical government ARs are ur best weapon. It's not about the safety of the population. It's about control and power. That's why the founders but in the 2nd and that's why the current regime wants to take it away. Spread the information brother
This. Pistols, shotguns and bolt action hunting rifles are not a threat to a governments power. They'd like to ban them too but that can come later. Look at Canada; A couple of years ago they went after assault rifles, now they're going after pistols. NWO governments aren't comfortable seeing state of the arts military type weaponry in civilian hands. They're not overly concerned with drug dealers shooting each other in the large cities with pistols are they? What was it, 42 shot in Chicago last week? All governments powers come from the barrel of a gun.

It's all racial. It's because most AR's are black and the government is racist.

We tend to argue about the wrong things.
Joe/Left claim that no civilian should have "weapons of war." We reply that the AR-15 isn't a weapon of war.
The citizenry keeping and bearing weapons of war is the entire purpose of the 2A.
It isn't about hunting, target shooting, "common use" blah, blah, blah... It's about owning weapons that are effective at killing tyrants and their armies. That's it. Period.
The 2A is the final stopgap measure to ensure that we have the means to violently murder anyone foolish enough to invade... or any/all who disregard constitutional procedure to enact tyranny.
All the other stuff is academic hogwash.

If the 2nd is the last stop gap to insure the rest of our rights one should ask themselves why the left/OWO crowd wants it gone so bad. They have went so far as to undermine the purpose and power of the whole constitution mainly to restrict then abolish the 2nd.
