How much public land trapping is there in TN? Maps really don't show much for public land. Hard to imagine a person getting enough permissions to run a large line.

There isn't much public land outside of east TN. The Cherokee National Forest is in east TN. What public land there is though is eat up with deer and coon hunters. I'd recommend getting to know land owners and work from there if you want to trap in TN.

X2 for my part of TN - best bet is private ground. I got my foot in the door years ago asking local farmers and ranchers to do some predator trapping for them which ended up getting me about 1500 acres of deer hunting and trapping land to myself. Middle TN is pretty thick with coyotes which is a bonus.

On the navigable waters (rivers) U.S. Army corps of engineers, it is public domain all the wat to the high water mark.
