The 7.3 is by which all others are compared. Lasts forever. Great power.
Since the 7.3, Ford tried other engines. The others sometimes had issues.
I skipped forward to the 6.7 in a new 2019 F-350. It seems to be the best update upgrade to the 7.3. More horsepower and torque. I love mine.

Were 7.3s made after 2000? I thought 2000 was the last year. I could be wrong.

I had one that started eating glow plugs, Ford replaced everything except the wiring harness and it still ate them every time you started it and drove it. After about $2000 at Ford with no fix, I told them it was going to make a good snow fence and parked it for the winter. Drove it in and sold it at an auto auction. That was the last ford I owned. If the dealewr can't fix their own stuff, why own it?

Had 2 of them a 92 and a 95. 95 had a turbo but much preferred the non turbo model. Both mine were standard tranny as well.

Beardy - my 19 now has a whopping 15,640 miles. After 10,000 the mileage improved. I don’t really care about mileage numbers, but noticed that the tank of fuel lasted considerably longer. I regularly tow loads 15,000 pounds. Pulling, controlling, and stopping is effortless.
