Neighbor calls the sheriff and says they are worried your going to hurt somebody and your armed. LE comes to your home and confiscates all your firearms. No court, no warrant. Only a neighbor angry you called the sheriff and made a complaint their dog was incessantly barking. Now the burden of proof is on you. Just like tax court. An IRS auditor made something up cause he SUSPECTS you lied on your tax return. No evidence is needed. You must file for a hearing so the burden of proof is now on you.

People keep saying due process but you get no due process with the IRS, no right to remain silent, no burden of proof on the accuser. Just like with cash confiscation. No charges, no evidence, the burden of proof on the accused. So its not like its something not already happening. Government just wants to extend the policy to firearms.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

If we had citizens willing to snitch on non mask wearers, imagine the power those"mask police" will have in the name of safety with red flag laws.

There's no shortage of liberal judges out there that would be all too keen to get on board.

Under the mental health system red flag laws already exist .They are not called red flag laws but they amount to the same thing. If a police officer ,physician or anyone authorized by the state and they determine that the person is a danger to themselves or someone else .They can be committed involuntary to a facility to be treated for a mental health problem by a judge. . In PA this is known as a 302 commitment . Any one being held and treated for mental health issues under a 302 may not own ,posses transport or transfer a gun . So if you offend someone and they call the authorities and report that you are acting strange or out of the ordinary .If the police investigate and find that you should be taken in the next step in the process is to be determined that you are a danger to yourself or someone else . You do not get due process and now you are guilty until you can prove in front of a judge that you committed no crime You do not need to be charged with ,a crime or wrong doing or any other thing involving your original behavior And once that 302 is n your record it is very difficult to have it removed .And the state police are authorized to provide that info when a back round check is done to purchase a gun .We all may think well that does not concern me .But something that seems that seems so small and no big deal can affect the rest of your life

100% correct.

And you can tell how good any particular city, town or state is by how new their vehicles and gear are and how militarized.

Have you ever had a medical personnel ask you "have you ever thought about harming yourself or someone else?" That's reason for the law to seize all your arms.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

Gary That is exactly why they ask you that question .It may seem harmless to you but your answer could land you in a situation you never would have considered. In other words the ground work for red flag rules are already in place .And on the surface it makes sense to report those that are acting strangely But it might just cost you your guns
