Just curious if anyone was bidding on the Girard on-line gun auction tonight? It was the first one I had been involved with in doing. People were nuts for most of the pistols, newer semi-auto stuff, and old bolt or pump classics. I ended up with winning both old things I bid on earlier, although I had to fight a bit for the 870 12 ga with extended mag. Some interesting "names" used. Some boys laid out some bags of coins for multiple pieces. Kind of fun to watch and be a part of in the "drama"...

Most gun auctions I have been to in my life the prices are very inflated with only one exception. So I never wast my time at them. The one exception was a nice surprise they were selling a collection of guns along with the restnof an estate. I was there for farm equipment figured the guns would sell to high like normal. I was watching from the back when a few pieces I had wanted for years were about to sell for way under current prices. I left with them both very happy.

I suppose it pays off for no fuel used going to the place in person for most folks. I'm going down Thursday afternoon pick up the 2 I snagged. They're shipping costs to another FFL dealer isn't cheap so even with higher gas, I'll come out ahead over shipping.

There was less than 200 guns but it was sort of fun to watch on line while it happened.

Most all online auctions have buyers fee...10% is actually some of the low end lots of them are 15% plus 3% card fee.

About 18 months ago they had an auction that was all traps and trapping related items. That was fun. Even with shipping, I got some good buys.

Yeah, that's how I got connected with them. I made some bids of some trap lots but got smoked bad. But I wasn't really paying attention either...
