Down quite a bit. I’m lucky, Ive got a lot of years to recover, feel bad for anyone trying to live off their retirement right now. It’ll come back, but it may be quite a while

I've been considering pulling all of mine. The question I'm wrestling with is it worth the 40% hit in taxes? What are you guy's thoughts on the tax hit?

Crazy as it may sound it really doesn't matter unless you are on the verge of retirement. At the end of the day, you still own the shares (and if you invested in good companies) the prices will go up again in the next Bull Market. Cashing out now is a bad idea as you lock in your losses.

Some Twitter dude just wrote Biden created a new incomprehensible language. This must be it.

I am sure mine is down. I quit looking about a year ago. It is managed and a software model moves in and out of stocks and bonds. I imagine I am in US Treasury bonds now. After the longest bull market in history, a drawdown was long overdue.

This is the reason why the 4 percent annual draw is applied. For times like this. Also diversity is also so important. As stated above.

Got most of mine out a year to early and missed a lot of gains. Will let the rest ride it out and buy like crazy when it hits bottom.

Or maybe I will make more buying all the stuff people will be forced to sell cheap to be able to eat in the coming months.

Depends on how close to retirement you are. If you still have 10+ years, they’ll end up with more than you. It always bounces back, this isn’t the first time it’s happened in my lifetime and I’m still young.
If you were planning on retiring in the near future, then yeah, you made a VERY good decision.

not lost anything--until you sell and lock in losses.

I am all in on SP500 and whole market index funds. retirement is still 20-25 yrs away for me

Down but going to ride it out. Market crashes to be expected. Zero debt and no mortgage and two deer in the freezer..things could be worse

hopefully it'll just be another of many I've already been thru. Just the ones I recall ---

Black Monday '87
Summer of '90/pre-lude to recession
Dot Com 2000 Bubble
9/11 aftermath
2008 great recession

and all the little blips in between.

Swapped everything into goldmining stocks a year ago so mine is up a good %. Probably getting close to getting some diversification now again.
