Dont know if this is just a Southern thing y'all ever seen those folk who will stand at a gas station with a big sign and a Bible and just rant for hours on end ? Like they pop up and places randomly and when you walk by they'll yell at you that you a sinner and your going to (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) or something....like wants supposed to be the point ? Are they trying to convert people or they heralds of the end times ? Because I'm sorry but have some random guy with a big sign yelling at me I'm going to (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) doesn't exactly get me in the " Gezz I need to go to church " mind set.

They ain't hurting anyone just leave them alone. My old neighbor who was very religious would start theological discussions with them and usually they would end up walking away.

I see it alot in Florida. No different than LGBGT, vegans, everybody who wants to get attention drawn to themselves. As though anybody cares. They may as well have parades too. Everyone's special except normal people.

Screaming at someone like a crazy person, telling them they're a dirty rotten filthy nasty person, and that they need to be more like you, isn't very convincing.

Never seen one here but I'd like to at least once.

When I was 17, in the Fall of 1987, I was in the Clifton neighborhood of downtown Cincinnati, with a friend from highschool. We walked up on a guy standing on a wood box, with a sign screaming about where everybody was going. My friend walked right up and started talking to him. The guy acted dumbstruck for a moment and then went into a rabid frenzy, spitting drool and all. The guy was very clearly insane. The guy worked himself into an absolute rage and started condemning my friend eternally. My friend started yelling about where the guy was going and the guy turned even redder, became covered in sweat and looked like he was going to explode. By then a huge crowd of people had gathered. My friend said a few more choice words and then we walked off.

I asked my friend why he talked to the guy and he told me did it a few times before and that the guy always had the same reaction.

Closest I've seen is a nice style ranch house with a fancy, manicured yard and on the edge of it a rusty piece of roofing tin nailed to two trees with "The End Is Near. Are You Ready? Repent!" painted on it in red spray paint, lol. Always seemed so out of place.

Maybe they are hoping some will give them gas money to just be quiet. On the bright side if one is so upset and preoccupied by someone's pastoral rant they may not notice the $5 per gallon gas they are buying. So in a way they are providing some mental relief.
