I generally tend to be a loner and while I like most people and my neighbors I tend to not be the visiting back and forth type.

I'm friendly and if any of them ever need help I'll be there all they have to do is ask but e cent for a couple of neighbors u don't visit around much

Well my neighbors to the east sold their place to a guy from silver springs Maryland and while he's a nice enough guy he has ZERO clue about life in the country.

He never even owned or ran a weedeater or chainsaw till the last year.

He has a greenhouse and has kinda hinted around for some guidance when it comes to gardening..SO...

I had some extra pepper and tomato plants and various seeds..cukes squash and such..so last night jerry and I went up to show him how to get his greenhouse planted for late summer.

We planted several tomato and pepper.plants..cukes..zuchini..and yellow squash.

He had planted lettuce earlier.

He has several peach trees and blueberry bushes and blackberry vines on the place.

While I was showing him how to plant the things I'd brought up he told Jerry he was welcome
Pick the ripe blueberries if he'd like..he ended up with about half a gallon and the guy has boocood more and said w could have all of then we wanted. He probably has 30 bushes and said he'd never ever use them al.

I offered to show him.how to freezr them.if he'd like to put some up for later use and he said he be glad to learn how.

The blueberries were an unexpected gift I'm thankful for because Jerry loves blueberry muffins and cake.

We're going up this evening to show him how to do the berries and he ants to plant a few potatoes it's late but they'll make for him

He's definitely not a country guy but he's one alot with the place and doesn't seem afraid of hard work and that's thw biggest thing. I told him he could be successful at it but he had to be discipline Ed for thw long haul cause he could.only truly count.on himself to get things done the way he wants them.

I was skeptical at first but other ha being ageenhorn..which he can overcome with hard work and paying attention and taking advice...he's gonnamak a m fine farmer. He's not afraid of hard work and listens well...

Habits that are hard to find in some fellers. wink

We're glad to kinda take him under our wings and show him the ropes. Jerry even liked him.and he's more of a loner than I am.

Have any of yall ever went out of your way to help a new neighbor? It was actually a pretty fulfilling evening. Jerry and I both felt.like we'd helped the guy out and that he'd appreciated the help and advice.

I have a neighbor that has become a good friend and hunting partner now.

we were probably neighbors for 5 years talked about hunting and fishing and stuff but never went together.

then one day he asks me and my son if we (my son and I) want to go pheasant hunting , he ad been soured on hunting with people in the past because their poor gun handling skills and being unsafe, we went hunting the first time and he was like man I never should have worried about your gun handling skills you guys are awesome . so now it is a regular thing that we chase ditch chickens in the fall

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I tend to keep to myself. If I see the neighbors out I’ll smile and wave, but that’s about it. If I see something needing emergency attention I’ll help out, lucky for me my neighbors are pretty much the same as me. I was glad they were there the other day, when I was at work and my wife was out of town a couple ravens found their way into my young chickens, the neighbors saw em and chased em off and locked the remaining chickens in the coop. Lost 4 out of 17 chickens, but I’m positive if they hadn’t seen it and ran over to stop em the ravens woulda got every one of them.

That's great! My neighbors stick to themselves but if I'm home late the one neighbor will let my lab out and put firewood in the wood furnace. I plow his driveway if we get 12" plus of snow and take trees down for him.

That's good to hear. Just this morning I was thinking about back when my Dad was a kid. No phones. Everybody went to town on Saturday.......spent the whole day in town trading, visiting, and came home Saturday night. Nowadays neighbors don't even know each other.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

I like knowing my neighbors. If they need me i feed for them or water their gardens or let their dogs in and out. They'd do the same for mee but i don't ask.

I will say that all of them have told me if the end of the worlds comes they want me on their team. Brwnda tokd me it was because i know how to hunt fish garden and do just about anything i have to in order to survive and im not afraid of much.lol.

If the have any sick animals i get the call to..come to think of it i don't visit back and forth much but i actually see my neighbors often cause seems like all of em have some issues now then.

when I moved where I am currently Dorothy had lived here near 30 yrs. She knew two or three of the neighbors is all. Now, everyone on our block knows me, and Lucas, my dog. Not all but many from surrounding blocks know us too.

A fella that lives second house down from my country place has become a very good friend. He and I help each other all the time. In fact I am going to help him next week with a well at his place that he has never even opened up in the 30+ yrs he has lived there.

I have always waved and spoke to the neighbors. Give them any help I can and often give them stuff from my garden or some meat from hunting. Fed several families going through rough patches over the years. And happy to do it.

I see a car coming I will wave, if they don't wave back after a few times, I ignore them.

I found my buddy's wallet on the floor in a bar one night during a session with the boys.It was pretty fat,so I bought a round for the boys and gave him back his wallet a little lighter.
Everyone was happy, its nice being neighbourly.

Wrong-a jerk would have taken all the money kept it for himself, and threw the guys wallet in the trash with all his ID etc.
I wont encourage someone to be careless with his wallet-a lesson needs to be given for his own good.

I think he feels like since he didn't spend it all it was OK.

I was kinda wondering if his buddies thought he was "the man" for buying a round of drinks.
