I have a old Columbia bench vise, and I broke the main screw on it.
I have searched and found out Wilton bought out Columbia .
So I looked and tried to find part's and they have like handles , and
jaws.

I might be out of luck on it, it use to be my grandpa's.
It made it threw him and my Dad and I've had it 13 years now.
Just hoping to keep it going strong.

Thanks for the help

Is it a standard acme thread? If so, you can get acme threaded rod and fabricate the handle end.

You may have to retire her unless you can find an old one like it for parts. Is there a size or # to go by? Craigs list may have one somewhere in the country. Or eBay has some.

Any Machine shop worth their salt should be able to make you one.

Thanks for input, the local machine shop is up for sale but he's still doing limited work.
And the one down the road he just passed away last month.

But I will talk to local shop and see if he will, I know he can but he's just trying to retire.

It's probably just acme rod you might be able to replace it and put a new handle on it

Try a Community College? They fixed one for me years ago.

McMaster Carr has acme thread rods. They have a ton of items that can be hard to find. Decent prices too! If i order before 3 Pm ill have it the next morning by usually 10.

I order from McMaster Carr once and a while. Mostly for stuff I can't find elsewhere. I never considered their prices decent though. That's why they're usually a last resort for me.

Eh...wot?

better look at the nuts threads while your at it.

McMaster has Acme threaded rods, a chunk of decent steel 3ft long will be about $100 when you get it in your hands.
A machine shop should be able to mate your old handle onto the new shaft. Shouldn't take too long (time=money).
