No but we had one of those thick rope things they walked under. Dad would soak it in bug dope from time to time.

Never seen one around here. I guess the vegetation is scratchy enough in these parts lol

Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

We’ve got 2 DeLavals. They aren’t cheap but the cows love em. Most days there’s a waiting line for it or 2-3 using it at the same time

X3. My son runs the sweeper at work. Took a used one home for his cows. Check with your town or state DOT/DPW, probably get one for free.

Google for a whole host of sizes, types and ones that you can do for yourself. Cattle love them and they provide a real benefit. There will be sites that discuss best locations etc. for higher usage.

Post better be planted deep. Cows wanting a deep massage will push it over in a day.

I dunno bout that, vegetation in the desert is very unforgiving! Everything we got will stab you, cut you, scratch you or sting you, sometimes all of the above lol.

It's the same here. You should see my legs. Between the fire ants, no see ums, mosquitoes, ticks, horse flies, deer flies, red wasps, blackberries, multiflora rose, poison ivy, stinging nettle, and whatever that vine is with the 2 inch long spikes... I'm a bloody mess and I've not been more than 50 yards from my yard, lol. Oh and don't forget the half dozen venomous snakes I've somehow managed to avoid so far. Much of the woods down here you won't even get through at all without a machete.

I’ve lost a lot of skin to or native flora too lol. We only have one venomous snake, just rattlers. We don’t have bugs you have either. I don’t know how you southerners put up with the bugs! That would drive me insane. The only time I ever see a mosquito or gnat or horsefly is when I’m fishin. Other than that, up around the house or out in the hills, I almost never see a mosquito or gnat or any of those pesky biting type of bugs. There ain’t enough water for there to be bugs. Well there’s millions of shield back katydids but they are huge and don’t bite or anything. If you’re lucky you’ll find a tarantula, but again, they’ll leave you alone. You can even pick em up and hold em most of the time. The ones you gotta worry about here are more likely to crawl in bed with you and get you than bite you while you’re out and about. Black widows, vinagaroons, scorpions, lots of scorpions.

My first thought when I saw the old broom on that post. Maybe a street sweeper brush over an I beam with regard welded to it in several places and set in a big deep block of cement. Big enough the cows stand on it while hitting the scratcher and can't move it. But now your getting expensive.

I made one out of a sweeper brush. It hangs on a chain that runs through the center hole between two pieces of pipe. I would guess it has been up for 20 years.

Get a 10' length of 2 7/8" or 3" oil field pipe . Push or pound in ground 5' then slip street sweeper brush over it . It will never move
