Sorry I'm new to the fur handling side of trapping, but where do I find the FHA grades?

You need to set up an online account on the FH website. www.furharvesters.com.

I think you will need the receipt number from when you dropped off your fur with an agent.

If you have problems, call FH and they can help you.

I am betting the results will be pretty low key. That is what happens in a down market. No one brags about a bomb.

We all feel that the non live auctions or the virtual auctions are poorer auctions for our fur commodities, but when one thinks about say even 100 international buyers flying say 20,000 miles round trip and 3-6 days in hotels along with other expenses the cost of travel could almost equal or be higher than the value of the fur sold, even if clearances were quite high. If this sale is low or poor clearance or both the buying in the country for this fall could be really meager. A year ago at the July sale my decent rats averaged 7 cents below $6 which helped with a decent price for this fall and that price just kept dropping off over the season.

Considering the US ( and more importantly, most of the developed nations ) is on the eve of an economic recession, I wouldn’t be expecting much out of this sale. Fur consumption is going to fall.

Once they start freezing cause of no fuel the price of warm furs will skyrocket.
