I was a bit apprehensive going to the PA convention figuring the high gas prices would cause the rendezvous to be marginal at best. However, it was a big success, at least for the dealers. All the dealers I talked to said they had good sales, and like me, they were also pleasantly surprised at the attendance.

The PA folks did a great job making the convention a smooth running operation. Their hard work was evident and greatly appreciated. A big thanks to y'all for a super good convention! Next year it is to be in Shippensburg.

Can't imagine what the fuel cost is for the dealer's now days, not sure i can see a way they even break even.

Do you know who bought the two bottles of Skeeter Pee at the auction? I heard they went for a crazy price of $160. each.

PA has it going on, maybe the strongest trapping state.

Attendance was off for sure by my estimate but dealers seemed happy. I think people are still exited about trapping...but maybe not longline first trapping.

2023 is in Shippensburg...everyone knows District 8 puts on a good show.

2024 is Hughesville...goodness there is history there with the past PTA Rondys and Neil Olsens conventions held there.

I attended a couple of the Neil Olsen conventions held at Hughesville during the 1980'sThey where some of the best convention I was ever at .The line up of demos was like a who's who of trappers of the time period .

I was there Saturday in the smaller of the two buildings. I was just the other side of Alan Probst.

My wife and I attended for the first time, it was well worth the drive we both enjoyed the speakers on canine's. I certainly gained a lot of knowledge and I know my wife say's she understands a lot more even though she doesn't trap, she finds it interesting and we are looking forward to next year.

First and foremost I'd like to thank all of my fellow D12 members who volunteered their time, effort and energy to put on this rendezvous. I appreciate all of you guys and it was great working alongside you for the duration.

Thanks to all of the demo presenters, vendors, tailgaters and guests that came out to help support the rendezvous as well. So many of you traveled long distances to get there, and let's face it, that's not a cheap thing to do these days with the price of fuel.

A big shout out and thank you to Eric Space who drove 4 hours each way from NJ to give a demo on mink snaring. Eric lost a friend earlier in the week and needed to attend the funeral on Friday evening. It would have been very easy to pick up the phone and call me to cancel his demo, however he battled traffic to get to us, hung out for awhile and gave his demo, then turned around to head back home. He undoubtedly spent more time in his car that day than on the fairgrounds. A true man of his word. His demo was excellent as well.

All in all I would say it was a success and I was happy to be involved.
