We just got home form a three day trip to the north eastern Iowa area. We went as far south as Dryersville to check out The Field of Dreams. There is a serious need for a Muffler Installation Technician in that area. When we arrived at a motel in Marquette Iowa we found ear plugs by the TV remote waiting for us. That was something new, and it didn't take long to see why. That whole area is need of major exhaust repairs, and all the new vehicles had loud duals.

The ear plugs are for the annoying trains. You said motel so I'm sure you're talking about the Frontier right next to the casino and the railroad tracks/crossing. I live in PDC WI right across the river and I can't say we have any more loud exhaust issues than anywhere else. I know some people put loud exhaust on their trucks just to be cool or they have to stomp on the throttle if they're driving a diesel because that makes em tough.

In PDC I have a bigger problem with all the UTV's that are running all over town since they allowed that. I don't get it personally, the majority that have them will never take them off the street/blacktop. You want to talk noisy listen to them as they go by. If you're riding in them it's gotta be deafening.

I used to do shift work so always keep ear plugs on hand.

But went to all day shifts a year ago. 25 years of of shift work was enough.

A job opportunity for coonman- he can apply fluid film while the vehicle is up in the air.

There's a welding shop in New Jersey that advertises spraying your trapping vechile frame with fluid film. I used to think that spraying fluid film was something Dave came up with until I ran across the advertisement of this welding shop.

It was The Cobblestone Inn. I didn't even notice the trains, but we live close to train tracks. It was exceptionally loud around that town.

The Cobblestone shouldn't be too bad it's a newer hotel and at least not on top of the RR crossing. Must've been a bunch of idiots gunning it going up Hwy 76 towards Waukon or as they come from that way at the stop sign. We get a lot of motorcycle riders in this area because of the scenic roads along the river. Harley riders are another group that loves their loud exhaust. Give me a nice quiet Honda Goldwing, BMW, Yamaha or Kawasaki any day. I like bikes that you can't hardly hear as they go by you.

330 Trapper, Iowa wouldn't be a bad state to live in. The public land deer hunting is way above average, and the politics are far better than Minnesota. As long as you're not in the desolate flat land area it's a scenic state. What part of Iowa did they go to?

Run, Nessmuck among others has talked about fluid film many times. He's a auto body man. If I had a newer truck I'd get it done yearly. The brine and salt they put down around here eats metal up in no time.

As far as noise goes, I am pretty sure Dave was drag racing with his trapping vechile. Ok, I missed nessmuck talking about fluid film. Thank you for the update.
