And chambers a .35 Rem, do ya think it will make the ammo more available and perhaps cheaper? Holy Moly, it's hard to find here and when ya do it's between 2.50/3.50 a round.

Did Ruger buy the Marlin rights from Remington? I hope so.

I got a marlin made 336 in 30-30. I sure like it. Comes up and points good for me.

I have seen print ads for the new Ruger made Marlin rifle . I feel that at some point they will make lever action .in a .35 Rem. caliber . The Marlin 336 has a lot of tradition behind it And with the Ruger name involved in ownership they will try to capitalize on the history of the caliber ,model ,and company name .

they bought Marlin from the Remington bankruptcy so they one all of the designs and unsure about the tooling

they have relaesed and are selling the 1895 and 1895 trapper in 45-70 , next up for release is the 336 in 30-30- and 35rem

after that the 1894 , I would assume in 44mag , maybe 357 and 45lc

35 rem in 336 would be very nice

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I am in a friends will to receive his old 336 in 35 Rem. He will be a friend for life, and then some. He never married and only has one heir. She is a nun and cannot own property. Sort of sad.

Yes, Ruger owns Marlin - period.
They are currently producing the 1895 45/70 rifle in several versions, with plans to produce the 336 and 1894 models in 2023. They're slowly catching up as Ruger has had to (and still is) rebuilding, retooling, etc, their manufacturing facilities to produce a full line of Marlin lever guns again.

Pete, it's a awesome gun it's just the availability and price of the ammo. I only have myself to blame though, I should have stocked up years ago and got in to reloading. I'm just hoping that when Ruger makes the 336 in 35 the ammo gets more popular and comes down in price.

I wish they would make a 336 in 7-30 waters. They only made them in a Winchester 94 and are hard to find.

Ken Water's 7-30 never garnered much of a following, not that it wasn't an interesting cartridge. I think the only chance you'll have at owning a 7-30 Water's is to buy a used Winchester.

I have my Dad's old 336A in .32 Win. Spl. It has a 24" barrel with a 2/3 magazine.
He shot a buck with it in northern Wisconsin that won a 7 county contest back in 1954
when I was 2 months old.

I've handled (fondled) a Marlin like that. Well balanced, would be a joy to hunt the big timber with. About 20 years ago I picked up a 336 Cowboy (30-30), which has a 24" octagon barrel. A scary accurate rifle.
