There is a anti reverse switch that will do that if out of adjustment. It is there to keep you from being able to mow in reverse. As soon as it trips the mower will shut down. Mine is a 130

Might take a look at the blades too. If you sharpened them, and they're bent or out of balance they will rattle your teeth loose.

Oh, nvm I put a jumper on it..lol that's why I can go reverse without holding down that stupid button. First thing I did when I got that tractor. In that case I would suspect the blade or blades got bent as don't think they are timed like some mowers.

Check your spindles, sounds like one is loose or the bearings are shot Glad it wasnt a spindle!

I need a wheel horse spindle, or three. Had the motion control safety switch go bad. That took a while to cypher out.

Remove one switch at a time and jumper wire them til it started. Then went and bought the 12 buck switch. I tried every way to use a multi meter, too many settings on this one for me. Old guy at dealer said you can not test those. But they keep us safe lol.

I have a 1979 here I been wanting to get into. Was told the jd green paint is way over priced.
My Son bought a new rider last year. What a hunk of junk compared to old iron. But we wanted cheaper. <-- Careful what ya wish for.
