I toured the new Station on Saturday. Very interesting. It'll be interesting to see what they learn.

1 of the things that might interest some of you is they are working on trying to create a hybrid blueberry/cranberry mix. Trouble right now is it doesn't float.

I pick alot of wild cranberries here. They grow on the tundra and you can start picking them in late august but they get sweeter after the first frost. I pick them right up until the snow buries them.
very easy to pick as they grow in clumps.

They are smaller than the version you see in the store, about the size of a pea, but very rich, tart flavor.

I've drank more cranberry juice the last couple of years for bladder problems than I've drank combined thru my whole life. I find its tricky with its acid content with my stomach ailments.

Love Diet Cran Cherry and Diet Cran Blueberry juices from Ocean Spray. Awesome taste and diabetic friendly juice. Diet Cran Pineapple and Diet Cran Grape are just ok, same with straight Diet Cranberry.

The experiment stations are interesting. I'm a stones throw from the Griffin UGA experiment station and often visit due to beekeeping. Have done several classes and presentations there.

Currently they have a huge block of peaches on a section they cleared a few years back. Another good sized block of blueberries. And on the older section close to campus several plots of turf grasses.

Would love to tour the peaches when they do the taste testing, lol.
