In my experience, no. I even put a truck cap out for them. The only time they use it is when it gets really cold out. I didn't raise them in the coup so I don't know if that would have made a difference or not.

All mine over the years, if given a choice, chose to stay in the highest point in the yard where they could see for a distance.

Depends some will some won’t goes for both, training helps but there will always be that one that will insist on roosting outside
When I was a kid my uncle had a couple hundred ducks that had a pen in the barn and were let out to roam the farm every morning, every evening they were waiting outside the barn then followed him into their pen to be feed, it’s what i mean by training some would be waiting inside already

Mine didn't. They'd sit outside in thunderstorms overnight even though there was a coop right there.

When I had chickens, I hatched some Mallards. They would follow the chickens into the coop at night.
Later when older, they flew away.

My ducks don't have a bedtime, they nap when they want and will be feeding or roaming around at 0300.

Mine would put themselves to bed right off my back porch. I guess they felt safe there and nothing ever bothered them as I had outside dogs. Only problem was, every time you came or went out the back door you were walking in duck poo. I don't have ducks anymore.
