Thanks for posting Hydropillar.

I didn't know Mike but his obit is a great example of how people in "never big little towns" in eastern South Dakota survive without actually being farmers. I don't know if the "model" of how they did it in the period of say 1980 through 2010 or so still works, I can only hope it does. At least it doesn't cost much to live in a place such as Ashton except for fuel to drive around and maybe propane to heat your house. It sure as h*** doesn't cost as much to live there as in this free fire construction and people in-fill zone down here. A different pace of living...

P.S. I shot a deer put of the Jim River bottoms near Ashton one year. That river sure is a twisting meandering stream in Spink County.
